Alan Dershowitz demands censorship of Al Jazeera Israel lobby film

Alan Dershowitz is calling for the government of Qatar to censor Al Jazeera’s suppressed film exposing the US Israel lobby. In a letter on Monday he called for the channel to “reshoot and re-edit” the film before its release to add “pro-Israel commentators.” Clayton Swisher, Al Jazeera’s head of investigations, revealed in an article for The Jewish Daily Forward on Friday that he ran into Dershowitz at a restaurant when the Harvard law professor and prominent propagandist for Israel was recently in the Qatari capital Doha.

AIPAC’s Anti-BDS Campaign

When the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) comes to town this week for their annual policy conference, high on the agenda of issues they’ll be pushing Congress to support are bills designed to ‘fight the boycott of Israel.’ This campaign to combat efforts to ‘boycott, divest, or sanction’ Israel (BDS) has become a full-fledged national movement with AIPAC-supported initiatives moving forward not only in Congress but in two dozen state legislatures, as well. These bills, both federal and state, are all variations on a theme designed to punish, by blacklisting or sanctions, any governments, businesses, organizations, or individuals who boycott, divest funds, or impose sanctions on Israel or Israelis or products emanating from Israel or ‘Israeli controlled territories.’

The large trade policy bill includes anti- BDS trade legislation promoted by AIPAC and introduces new U.S. policy language by including all “Israeli-controlled territories” as part of Israel.

Talking BDS with Chris Hedges

In a lecture entitled “Building the BDS Movement for Justice in Palestine,” Hedges asserted that the boycott, divestment, and sanctions (BDS) movement is the only remaining avenue by which activists can effectively advocate for the rights of Palestinians.

Anti-BDS provision signed by Obama won’t stop this movement

Josh Ruebner: This provision… makes it a “principal negotiating objective” of the United States “to discourage politically motivated actions to boycott, divest from, or sanction Israel” in current negotiations with the European Union over the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership.

Wolf Lets Oren Howl at CNN Colleague’s Work

By Yousef Munayyer

Last week CNN stooped to a new low in coverage of Israel/Palestine. Wolf Blitzer, the former AIPAC employee turned host, decided to cover the deaths of two Palestinian teens in the occupied Palestinian West Bank. You’d think this is a step forward until you see how it was don

Are Israeli Apartheid Laws Affecting US Media?

By Yousef Munayyer

Given the recent statement made by Secretary Kerry about apartheid and Israel and the subsequent walk back, there was a great deal of discussion around the issue in the mainstream media in the last 48 hours.

You’d think the media might want to speak to some Palestinians, you know, those people suffering from the very system in question here, whatever you want to call it. It would be odd, for example, for network news shows to talk about racism without talking to people of color or talking about misogyny without talking to any women. Well, let me revise this, this would be odd in most places but Fox News, where we’ve come to expect such things.
