Grants

Our grants provide humanitarian assistance to Palestinians in the West Bank, Gaza and Jerusalem, and to Palestinian refugees in Syria and Lebanon. We also support projects that help Palestinians highlight their history and struggle to Western audiences.

This project aimed to empower teachers at the UNRWA school comlex in Al-Fawwar Camp to produce digital education tools and programs using augmented reality of technology, raising the quality of education especially for students who strugle with learning difficulties as a result of the global pandemic.

Rooftop Agricultural Project at Nahr Al Bared Camp

The Jerusalem Fund Grant helped in promoting sustainable planting through establishing eco-friendly spaces on ten rooftops. The purpose of this project was not only to provide the seniors with fresh produce to alleviate some of the pressure on their finances, but it was also an excellent intervention that helped them relax, uplifted their spirits while keeping them occupied which was overall therapeutic.

Development of Special Education Unit for Blind Children

This school has been serving the educational and therapy needs of blind children since 1962. Their latest project was the expansion of physio, occupational and speech therapy services for children enrolled in the school as well as those from neighboring areas.

Provision of Glucometers and Strips for Measuring Sugar Levels for Children with Diabetes

This organization serves the financially burdened families with diabetic children by providing them with the medical resources necessary to have healthy control over their condition. This project helped parents monitor their children’s sugar, and the children in turn could enjoy physical activities and maintain better focus in school.

Vocational Training Tools for Women

Training for women in Bethlehem to obtain opportunities through skills training, networking within the labor market institutions and encouraging the beneficiaries of the program to start self-employment.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is eligible to apply?

The Jerusalem Fund extends grants to non-governmental organizations working in the Fund’s three focus areas of education, community development, and culture.

Do you accept applications from organizations within the U.S.?

Yes, but our primary focus is on helping improve the lives of Palestinians through vetted civil society organizations that work on the ground in Gaza, the West Bank and refugee camps in neighboring countries.

Do you accept applications from individuals?

No.

Will I receive confirmation that my application has been received?

Yes.

Will I be informed if my grant application is rejected?

Yes.

How long does it take to be informed whether my application has been accepted?

We make every effort to send confirmation that your application has been received and contains all the required documents as soon as we receive it. It usually takes between 60-90 days from any grant application deadline for the grants awards to be determined, after which we promptly inform the grantees and request additional information to initiate the grants disbursement.

Are there reporting requirements of the grantees?

Yes. We require a follow-up report to be emailed to us as soon as the project has been concluded. We do not provide a form for this but require each grantee to compose their own report.

Can I apply in Arabic?

No. The Jerusalem Fund only accepts grant application forms in English. The grant application MUST be submitted through the online form. For assistance with the application, please email ruqyah@thejerusalemfund.org. Questions can be in English or Arabic. – No phone calls please.

How to apply

Deadlines for receiving grant applications are:

January 15 for consideration at the Spring board meeting.

April 15 for consideration at the Summer board meeting.

July 15 for consideration at the Fall board meeting.

October 15 for consideration at the Winter board meeting.

Applicants must complete the Jerusalem Fund’s Grant application form and submit it in electronic format using the submission form linked below. Please do NOT email them. As of September 2017, the Jerusalem Fund will no longer be accepting applications in Arabic.
