“Eye of the Blossom” – Interview with artist Amr Mounib
“Whatever becomes of the politics of Egypt’s ‘Arab Spring,’ the future of the country’s blooms certainly appears bright, colorful and clear. Really clear.” – John A. Bray

“Spring Flowers… and Mary Mounib’s grandson”
“Growing up in a garden of flowers … literally, as a child I was fascinated, taken by its diversity in shape and color, and feasted my eyes and never ignored…. As a photographer I always carried my camera with me and always on the lookout for flowers. No matter what assignments I had I always noticed the flower everywhere.
You may have noted that the gallery is now called The Jerusalem Fund Gallery Al-Quds. This addition helps to place us in context as we continue to present the art of Palestinians, Arabs and Arab Americans, as well as non-Arabs whose work touches on the Middle East.
Past Exhibit: Photographer Amr Mounib has deep roots in Egypt and in film, extending back to the first silent films produced in Egypt by his grandfather, Fawzi Mounib. In this, his first solo exhibition at the Jerusalem Fund Gallery Al–Quds he combines painting, collage photography and a touch of surrealism to produce images of an Egypt that lies in his heart.
