Gallery Opening: Lily Bandak – A Life’s Work in Pictures
The opening evening offers a rare chance to meet this extraordinary photographer. Her images of major public figures in the Middle East, as well as iconic landscapes and peoples of Palestine were exhibited widely, including at the U.S. Capitol, the White House, and the Cultural Paralympics in Atlanta as well as around the world.

Katie Archibald-Woodward is a photojournalist and minister whose calling in both spheres serves to illuminate life lived amidst occupation in Palestine. Her images include SoundCloud commentary. There is also an interactive component to this exhibition.

Paint flows from the mind and hands of Mona El-Bayoumi like a river. This exhibition of her work mid-career follows the currents of her thoughts about social justice, identity, beauty, and the role art plays in life’s progression. This exhibition features over 50 drawings and paintings in color and black and white.

Summer Sunshine features a wide-ranging sale of work by new artists, plus some familiar Gallery artists, as well as textiles, jewelry crafts and special surprises, all for sale to benefit the Jerusalem Fund and Gallery Al-Quds. Visitors are welcome during our regular working hours, M-F 9:30- 5, August 15-31 or during our Open House, Sunday August 27, 2-5 pm.
Resilient
Patterning informs the work of Samar Hussaini as she seeks to interpret Palestinian dress in the idiom of abstraction. Incorporating words, ornamental motifs, and images of repression and legacy, her art focuses on resilience and identity.
