Last week a controversy broke out in Israel over the segregation of Palestinian and Jewish mothers in Israeli hospitals. ‘Israel Radio… reported on Tuesday that various hospitals around the country have been separating Jewish and Arab women in the maternity ward.’

On October 16, 2015, the Palestine Center hosted Israeli researcher Noga Kadman as she presented her recent book, Erased from Space and Consciousness: Israel and the Depopulated Palestinian Villages of 1948. Kadman’s presentation focused on different mechanisms used to build the collective memory of Israelis after the 1948 war and aspects of marginalization and erasure of Palestinian villages from Israeli consciousness. She argues that this resulted in a picture for Israelis that theirs is a Jewish country with very little Arab history and geography
1913: Seeds of Conflict examines the divergent social forces growing in Palestine before the outbreak of World War I that caused the simultaneous rise in Jewish and Arab nationalism. Combining the perspectives of a wide range of Arab, Israeli and American scholars, the film includes information from documents previously unavailable from the Turkish Ottoman archives and largely untouched by historians.
Through educational events, humanitarian support, and cultural preservation, the Jerusalem Fund is helping build the movement for Palestinian liberation.
