Friends of The Jerusalem Fund,
As over 1 billion Muslims observe the holy month of Ramadan, a sacred time of spirituality, reflection, and community solidarity, Palestinians continue to endure immense hardship and unbearable suffering. In these unprecedented times, the gravity of the crisis compels us to reach out for your support once again.
Despite the precarious ceasefire bringing limited humanitarian aid into Gaza, the risk of famine remains severe, with around 1.95 million people in Gaza facing acute food insecurity, of which 345,000 are experiencing catastrophic levels of hunger. The drastic rise in Israeli settler attacks and military operations has made 2024 the deadliest year on record for Palestinians.
Israel’s regional war has destroyed over 80% of mosques and all 3 churches in Gaza, leveled numerous historic mosques and churches across Lebanon, and in the occupied West Bank, 20 mosques have been attacked and desecrated. The sanctity of Al-Aqsa Mosque continues to be violated, with thousands of settlers, escorted by Israeli forces, storming Islam’s third holiest site in over 250 documented incidents. The repression of religious expression and intimidation of worshippers have only intensified in recent months, as systematic restrictions prevent Palestinian worshippers from accessing al-Aqsa compound.
During this sacred month of Ramadan, we urge you to embody the spirit of giving by extending your support to those enduring unimaginable suffering in Palestine. The Jerusalem Fund remains committed to supporting the resilience of the Palestinian people amid these harrowing times.
Our Ramadan Emergency Appeal is more than just a call for donations; it is a call to stand in solidarity with the people of Palestine, to help alleviate their suffering and to support their enduring spirit. Your contributions are 100% tax-deductible to the full extent of the law, and every dollar you give goes directly to providing aid and support where it is needed most. If so desired, your donations can be used to support Zakat approved associations and groups.
In Solidarity,
