The Jerusalem Fund Internship Program – Summer 2024

About The Jerusalem Fund

The Jerusalem Fund for Education and Community Development (The Jerusalem Fund) is an independent, registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit. The Jerusalem Fund aims to foster greater awareness about Palestine, in the United States and abroad, and to ameliorate the lives of Palestinians in Palestine and the diaspora.

The Jerusalem Fund accomplishes these goals through three programs: 1) The Palestine Center — by hosting educational and policy analysis lectures and conferences in the DC area and through the dissemination of information online as well as the Hisham Sharabi Memorial Library with over 3,000 texts; 2) The Humanitarian Link — raises funds to provide relief, medical services, and community development support on the one hand, and the establishment and sustainability of the Palestine Diabetes Institute (PDI) in three cities in the West Bank; and 3) Gallery Al-Quds — the cultural arm that features an active gallery, film series, and musical and literary offerings.

Our Internship Program

For college students in the Washington, DC area, The Jerusalem Fund is currently offering summer internship positions with its educational program, the Palestine Center, for graduate and undergraduate students. These positions are based in our office which is located within walking distance from the US Department of State, the K Street lobbyists’ corridor, Embassy Row, historic Georgetown, and Dupont Circle.

The Palestine Center internship program provides students who have an interest in the Middle East, and Palestine in particular, with an opportunity to conduct research, develop writing and organizational skills, build valuable DC contacts, gain hands-on experience, and observe the extensive political and policy-related happenings in the metropolitan DC area. As important members of our team, interns gain valuable exposure to the functions of a highly productive non-profit organization working on issues of national and international significance. Duties will include drafting transcripts of Palestine Center briefings; archiving, cataloguing and digitization; supporting event and organizational planning; conducting research and drafting articles; setting up Palestine Center events; and limited administrative support.

Hours: 15-20 hours/week, in the DC area.

Deadline: Friday May 17, 2024

Our internships are paid.

Those interested should send their resume and a short writing sample (no more than 2 pages) to info@thejerusalemfund.org.
