As we continue our mission in 2024, the gravity of the crisis in Gaza compels us to reach out for your support once again. The devastating genocide has plunged the Gaza Strip into an unprecedented humanitarian emergency, with over 500,000 people at risk of imminent famine. During this holy month of Ramadan, children and pregnant women are among the hardest hit, facing acute malnutrition at alarming rates. In Gaza, 1 in 4 people are on the brink of famine, a situation exacerbated by the near-complete cut-off from aid in northern Gaza. The entire population of Gaza is struggling against hunger, with meal skipping becoming the norm, and a significant portion of the population is starving.
In response to this critical situation, The Jerusalem Fund is amplifying its efforts through its Emergency Gaza Appeal to support the crucial work of organizations like the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA), the Middle East Children’s Alliance (MECA), and other vital partners on the ground. Our support has been crucial for providing immediate relief to those enduring the harsh realities of starvation in the Gaza Strip. With the generous support we’ve received, a substantial portion of our funds has been allocated to MECA, enabling the distribution of food parcels throughout southern and northern Gaza and supplying ready-to-eat meals in Rafah. Our commitment extends to delivering 80,645 hot meals in the immediate future, offering a lifeline to those in desperate need.
