From time to time, the Palestine Center distributes articles it believes will enhance understanding of the Palestinian political reality. The following article was published by WAFA on 5 December 2015.
RAMALLAH, December 5, 2015 (WAFA) – Thousands of Palestinian mourners Saturday afternoon attended the funeral procession of a Palestinian youth who was shot dead on Friday by Israeli forces following an alleged stabbing attempt in Aboud village, northwest of Ramallah.
All shops and schools were closed and local churches bells were rung in honor of Abed al-Rahman al-Barghouthi, 27.
The funeral procession set off from Palestine Medical Complex in Ramallah and laid al-Barghouthi, 27, to rest.
Mourners raised the Palestinian flag and flags of different Palestinian factions and representatives of the local community delivered speeches confirming that al-Barghouthi was killed ‘in cold-blood’ as national songs were played on loudspeakers.
