Gallery Al-Quds invites you to the exhibition
Artist, calligrapher and jeweler Katie Miranda’s paintings explore moments of sumoud (steadfastness) and todamon (solidarity). In this exhibition she interprets iconic Western artworks through the lens of Palestinian struggle, such as Leonardo DaVinci’s Salvator Mundi (recently purchased for $450 million by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman). Landscapes of a multi-faith Jerusalem and hopes calligraphed on jewelry contrast with memorials to the dead in her multifaceted art practice.
Reception to meet the artist, Friday, October 11 6:00—8:00 p.m.
Exhibition Dates: October 11—November 1, 2019
