Imagine a world where an entire community faces a silent, debilitating enemy, one that steadily and surreptitiously erodes the health of its members. In Palestine, this enemy is diabetes, now one of the leading indirect causes of death, and considered the fourth main cause overall. An alarming 20.8% of Palestinians aged 40-69 years suffer from this condition. Beyond the disease, socio-economic constraints, movement restrictions, and psychological stress arising from the Israeli occupation have exacerbated this health crisis, creating an urgent need for intervention.
Amidst these challenges shines a beacon of hope: The Palestine Diabetes Institute (PDI). With branches in three major Palestinian cities in the occupied West Bank – Hebron, Nablus, and Al-Bireh, the PDI is strategically located to serve a broad spectrum of the population. With specialized clinics ranging from early detection and treatment of diabetes in both adults and children, to comprehensive laboratory analyses, eye care, and nutrition services, the PDI serves as a frontline warrior against diabetes. The institute also extends holistic care to children, addressing conditions like short stature, early puberty, and pituitary insufficiency.
Yet, for all its efforts, the PDI cannot combat this monumental challenge alone.
Our appeal to you today is simple yet profound. Your donation, no matter its size, can directly enhance the lives of countless Palestinians, allowing them to combat, manage, and even overcome diabetes. By supporting the commendable efforts of the PDI, you’ll not only be contributing to the immediate relief of many but also playing a vital role in raising awareness and educating communities about diabetes.
Remember, all donations to The Jerusalem Fund are fully tax-deductible to the extent allowed by the law. And we ensure that 100% of your generous contributions directly benefit the PDI or any other program of your choosing.
Donate now!We sincerely thank each one of our donors. Your unwavering support, big or small, continues to reinforce the health and steadfastness of Palestinians. Let us come together, yet again, to champion the cause of health, hope, and dignity.
Thank you for helping us make a difference. Every donation counts in this fight against diabetes.
