General Support
The Taha
Hussein Association for the Blind was
established in 1989.
Since then, it has provided services for
the
blind and vision impaired persons in and around
Um El-Fahm
(
The
Association endeavors to ameliorate the lives
of vision impaired persons by
focusing on their general welfare, developing
new services and applying them in
the region, and by increasing awareness in the
community concerning vision
impairment.
Blind
(and vision impaired) children are placed into
classes that consider their
disability and help to integrate them into the
daily routine of non-disabled
children.
Supplementary class hours and
Braille language instruction are part and
parcel of the overall program offered
by the Association.
Special
programs are an integral part of the
Association. Summer
camps, excursions inside and outside
of
Job
creation and placement are also part of the
program. The
Association matches blind (and vision
impaired) people with adequate work that suits
their needs and skills.
